"The air temperature will peak in October."Kupang (ANTARA News) - The people in East Nusa Tenggara are braving for scorching air temperature forecast to reach as high as 38 degrees Celsius next month.
Currently the air temperature already reached an average of 34 degrees C or hotter than the normal level of 30-33 degrees C as the sun is getting closer to the equatorial line above the country.
"The air temperature will peak in October," Muhammad Syaeful Hadi, the spokesman of the Kupang Meteorology office of Kupang, said here on Sunday.
Muhammad said air temperature is especially high in NTT because of low humidity at an altitude of 10,000 kilometers above the region that the earth is directly hit by the heat radiation from the sun.
He hopes the humidity would increase with clouds in the sky to absorb part of the radiation.
"The people of NTT, however, have been used to hot temperature especially those in coastal areas," he said. (Uu.AS/H-ASG/O001)
