"By using the up-to-date integrated database, all poverty eradication program can be right on target with minimal error rate, and optimal results," Boediono said.
Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono has stated that all poverty eradication program should use the government`s integrated database in order to boost their efforts to eradicate poverty.

"By using the up-to-date integrated database, all poverty eradication program can be right on target with minimal error rate, and optimal results," he said here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the opening of the Java-Bali Regional Development Planning 2012 congress, Boediono noted that both central and regional governments could benefit from the integrated database while implementing their poverty eradication program.

"Based on a report sent to me, many regions have accessed and used the integrated database to eradicate or reduce poverty," he said, expressing hope that other regions of the country would also use the database soon.

According to Boediono, all poverty eradication programs are mandated under the National Development Program and "must be implemented seriously".

As per its 2009-14 Mid-term National Development Plan, the government has set a target of reducing the national poverty rate from 11-12 percent at present to 8-10 percent by 2014.

"It is the national target, but each region must set its own target in its poverty reduction efforts," the vice president explained.

"The poverty eradication program and the way to monitor and evaluate it should be formulated thoroughly from the beginning," he said.

"The determination of the exact target is a decisive factor in the success of poverty eradication programs," Boediono added.(*)
