Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian currency rupiah gained 10 points against the US dollar on Thursday trading driven by optimism of Greek funding agreement.

"Rupiah gained after German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed optimism that an agreement would be reached to finance Greece," Monex Investindo Futures` analyst Ariston Tjendra said here on Thursday.

Rupiah traded at 9,640 to the dollar strengthening from the earlier level of 9,650 per dollar AS.

Risky currencies including rupiah follow the trend of euro which gained against dollar after the agreement in the meeting of the finance minister of the euro countries on Monday.

The rupiah rise, however, is still in limited range and could fall any time with minimum external positive sentiment.
