Cianjur, W Java (ANTARA News) - A flood inundated at least 100 houses in Cianjur district, West Java, on Sunday, forcing tens of families to evacuate to higher ground.

Some of the houses at Kertasari village in the district were submerged by 1.5-meter deep flood water after River Cireang and River Ciogong which flow through the district overflowed.

The flood water also inundated tens of hectares of rice fields.

"Right now 48 families are taking refuge at their neighbors` and relatives` houses which are free from flood. The 1.5-meter deep flood water came all of a sudden before night," a social figure said.

No fatalities or injuries were reported.

Traffic on the district`s southern main road was paralyzed as 1.5-meter deep flood water inundated it. (S012)
