Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received a Japanese delegation from the Japan-Indonesia Association (Japindo) here on Monday with a hope that the visit would increase the two countries` cooperation and friendship in the future.

"Welcome back to Indonesia. I hope this visit will boost relations and friendship between Japan and Indonesia," he said when receiving the delegation at his office.

He said the two countries have developed good relations not only between governments but also between the peoples so far.

"I am glad to see a strong delegation in the visit this time and I know some of them well. I hope this will increase further our bilateral partnership and cooperation," he said.

The Japindo delegation was led by its chief, Yasuo Fukuda who is also a Japanese former prime minister.

Delegation members included President and CEO of Japan-Indonesia Economic Comittee, Yoshinori Katori, the Emiritus chairman of JGC Group Yoshihito Shigehisa, the board of directors of Panasonic Corporation, executive consul of Japan`s Foreign Trade Board Yosuo Ichimura and several businessmen.

In the meeting President Yudhoyono was flanked by chief economic minister Hatta Rajasa, industry minister MS Hidayat, trade minister Gita Wirjawan and foreign minister Marty Natalegawa.
