"PKPU has performed missions to the whole world."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Humanitarian agency Pos Keadilan Peduli Umat (PKPU) has presented donation from the Indonesians totaling US$ 30,000 for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

"The first donation has been given directly to the Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya," Director of PKPU Agung Notowiguno said to ANTARA News here on Monday.

According to him, the PKPU humanitarian group had visited many places to perform humanitarian mission in Palestine.

One of the locations visited was Jamiyat Syabaanaat, a place where women held kindergarten level education programs.

"To entertain the children, the PKPU team distributed chocolate bars to 350 students of the morning class," he said.

The team also conducted a medical service in another school as well as collected data on children`s post-war psychological conditions.

He said that the success of the mission was a special gift from Gaza for PKPU on the occasion of its 13th anniversary on Dec 10, 2012.

"On this 13th anniversary, PKPU has performed missions to the whole world and has always been active in humanitarian actions, either on national, regional or international scale," he said.

According to him, PKPU has also contributed to shelter construction in Myanmar and helped victims of the storm in Philippines.

He said, the total donation from Indonesia to the Palestinian people collected by PKPU until now reaches Rp 1.3 billion.

He expected the donation to reach Rp2.5 billion by the end of December.

"The donation will be used to continue the humanitarian efforts to the next stage, which will be focused on vulnerable persons such as children, widows or mothers who fall victim to the war," he said.

Besides, PKPU, will also provide education service for the children in the region, he said.
