"The TMII organizers also held some entertainment programs."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Night Festival on New Year`s Eve has caused a decline in the number of visitors to Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII), with visitor arrivals down to 50,000 from last year`s 55,000, according to a spokesman.

"The number of visitors to TMII has decreased by about 10 percent compared with that of last year`s," TMII information section manager Suryandoro said here on Tuesday.

He stated that the Jakarta Night Festival, held by the Jakarta provincial administration on New Year`s Eve, led to road congestion, which in turn resulted in a decline in the number of visitors to the TMII.

"On the New Year`s Eve, the TMII organizers also held some entertainment programs featuring traditional and pop music," Suryandoro continued.

"During the Christmas holidays, around 35,000 people visited the TMII," he noted.

Apart from that, the "Taman Impian Ancol' (Ancol Dreamland Park) in North Jakarta saw approximately 70,000 visitors on Tuesday, while the target had been set at 100,000-250,000, he added.
