The dossiers of the suspects and evidence have been studied in Jakarta, but they would likely be investigated in Pekanbaru, Johan Budi said.
Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - Seven members of the Riau legislative assembly already named graft suspects in the National Sport Week project would be investigated soon by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), spokesman of the anti graft agency Johan Budi said.

The dossiers of the suspects and evidence have been studied in Jakarta, but they would likely be investigated in Pekanbaru, Johan Budi said here on Monday.

The seven legislators representing a number of political parties include Abu Bakar Sidik, Zulfanheri, Tengku Muhaza, Adrian Ali, Torechan Asyari, Syarif Hidayat, and Roem Zen.

There are 10 suspects in the same case including also Lukman Abbas, a staff of the Riau governor and former head of the regional sports and youth affairs office, Eka Dharma Putri, head of the sport facility and infrastructure at the regional sport office and Rahmat Syaputra, an employee of state construction company PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PP).

Johan said shortage of investigators has slowed the process of investigations, but though slow KPK is set to get to the root of the case.

He said this month KPK could concentrate investigation more on the graft case.

Some of the suspects have stood trial in the special corruption court in Riau and during the trial examination Riau Governor Rusli Zainal was implicated .

A number of witnesses testified that Rusli knew about the process of bribing the members of the regional legislative assembly.

Rusli was said to pass order to the head of the Riau sport office Lukman Abbas to made contact with the developer of the project to provide fund to bribe the regional legislators .(*)
