"The Jakarta provincial budget increases 20.84 percent or Rp8.6 trillion this year from Rp41.3 trillion last year," deputy chief of the Jakarta legislative assembly Lulung Lunggana said.

The sources of the 2013 provincial budget will originate from regional income, unspent budget in 2012 and program loans for the Jakarta Emergency Dredging Initiative (JEDI), he said.

"This time regional income reaches Rp41.5 trillion, unspent budget Rp8.4 trillion and loans for the JEDI program Rp110 billion," he said.

"The remaining Rp4.4 trillion constitutes financing expenditure consisting of principal tax debts worth Rp58.19 billion and local government equities worth Rp4.34 trillion," he said.

He said budget allocations for the transportation sector this year reach Rp3.3 trillion, the health sector Rp4.1 trillion, the public works sector Rp4.9 trillion, the government sector Rp7.9 trillion and the education sector Rp12.6 trillion.
