"We agree that the value of the finding is not small but very big."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State Audit Board (BPK) has found potential state losses amounting to Rp9.72 trillion from 12,947 cases it has found in its auditing in the second semester of 2012, BPK Chief Hadi Poernomo said.

"We agree that the value of the finding is not small but very big," Hadi Poernomo said when he delivered a report on the results of BPK`s auditing in the second semester of 2012 to the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Tuesday.

He said that the cases consisted of cases on reduced receipts and on inefficiency.

Hadi said that of the total, 3,990 cases worth Rp5,83 trillion were non compliance cases which caused losses, potential losses and reduced income.

"BPK recommendations on these cases included transfer of asset and or transfer of money into state treasury, regional treasury or companies," he said.

Besides, 2,241 other cases worth Rp3.88 trillion were inefficiency cases. Some 4,815 were cases of weak built-in control (SPI) and 1,901 were cases of administrative deviations.

"BPK`s recommendation for these cases included suggestions to improve the SPI system and administrative actions or other corrective actions," the BPK chief said.

Hadi said that his board hoped the House of Representatives` members would take part in supervising and encouraging follow-up actions against the cases.

"We have found the same thing which is always repeated every year. If we do not work together and take follow up actions and overcome it, bigger potential losses will take place again," Hadi said.
