"Let's the law and justice work."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhyono praised the army here on Tuesday over what it has done to settle its problems recently.

"Army units, though not all, have recently been under public scrutiny. But I am glad with what the TNI (military) and the army have done to settle a number of problems they faced," he said at the Army`s Headquarters here on Tuesday.

He said he was proud of the army`s fast move, responsibility and willingness to settle its problems.

The army recently confessed that several members of its special forces Kopassus unit were involved in the raid in a penitentiary in Cebongan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, on March 23 in which four inmates were killed.

It said the four killed in the raid were thugs who had killed a Kopassus member days before in Hugo`s Cafe while the Kopassus members` raid was done out of solidarity.

While praising the perpetrators for the confession of their involvement in the raid President Yudhoyono said "let`s the law and justice work."

Following the incident the chief of the Central Java military commander and the chief of the Yogyakarta regional police command were relieved from their posts.

The army led by General Pramono Edhie Wibowo immediately set up a team to investigate the incident on indications that army members might be involved in it.
