Pontianak, West Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Rowing Association (Podsi) is determined to win half of the 42 gold medals at stake in SEA Games 2013 in Myanmar next December, Podsi chairman said.

Podsi Chairman Admiral Achmad Soecipto said here on Sunday that in the previous SEA Games, Indonesian rowers won 26 of the 42 gold medals at stake.

He said that sports could help improve the nation`s pride and dignity. "Therefore, Podsi has set the target of registering itself in the big 10 in Asia in 2016, and becoming the overall champions in Southeast Asia," he added.

Sucipto said that at the moment there were 62 men rowing athletes and 40 women athletes who were attending intensive training throughout the country.

He was here to inaugurate new regional executives of West Kalimantan Podsi for the 2012 - 2016 period.
