Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the Supreme Court (MA) Justice Hatta Ali said that former police general Susno Duadji had shown a gallant act by giving himself up to a prosecutor`s office.

"Susno indeed displayed a gallant act," said Hatta Ali, here Friday.

He said he had received information from the Supreme Court`s Public Relations Chief Ridwan Mansour that Susno Duadji had surrendered and had not been taken by force.

"I extend my appreciation to him (Susno)," the chief justice said.

Hatta said that Susno`s decision to surrender displays his good faith as a law-abiding citizen.

"As a good citizen, he should abide by the Supreme Court`s ruling which has come into force," said Hatta Ali.

Susno Duadji through his lawyer Untung Sunaryo came to the Attorney General`s office to deliver his intention regarding his imprisonment.

He was willing to give himself up only if he would be executed by legal enforcers appointed by the Attorney General and he would be jailed in Cibinong Penitentiary II Class A Cibinong.

Susno Duadji was sent to Cibinong jail at about 23.10 pm local time.
