Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Around 150 ships from 40 countries have been registered to participate in Sail Komodo 2013 which will be held in July-August.

"Up to Wednesday, 150 ships have been registered, and the number might increase further because every day there are always requests to participate in the event which will be held in East Nusa Tenggara," H.A. Haris of the local tourism office, said here on Wednesday.

The Sail Komodo registration for participation is open until participants will start sailing from Darwin, Australia on July 27, 2013, to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

If one ship carries five people on board, there will be around 750 people who will sail for one month during Sail Komodo.

He urged all stakeholders in East Nusa Tenggara to warmly welcome the participants and make them feel comfortable and safe when staying in the province.

As part of annual Sail Indonesia activities, East Nusa Tenggara Province will host an international maritime event called Sail Komodo this year.
