It is for our environment as well as world environment, and for our children`s children in the future,"
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, together with First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, his granddaughter Almira Tunggadewi Yudhoyono, and his daughter-in-law Anisa Pohan, visited the Greenpeace ship, Rainbow Warrior III, at Tanjung Priok Harbor on Friday.

The president and his entourage arrived at 8.30 am at the Nusantara Pura 1 passengers terminal, where he was greeted by Green Peace International Executive Director Kumi Naddo and Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi.

"It is for our environment as well as world environment, and for our children`s children in the future," President Yudhoyono told the newsmen on the deck of Rainbow Warrior ship.

The president during the visit was accompanied by among others Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sharif Cicip Soetardjo, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa, Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan, Environment Minister Belthazar Kambuaya, and Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan.

The Rainbow Warrior III arrived at Tanjung Priok harbor on Thursday after sailing from Papua Province.

The ship`s visit is highlighted with an exhibition on the environment in Tanjung Priok. The ship will be open to the public on June 8 and 9, 2013.

"The Rainbow Warrior is here to raise awareness of Indonesia`s rich yet fragile environment, and to support President Susilo Bambang Yudyohono`s commitment to protect the country`s forests and to restore our living oceans back to health," said Greenpeace Indonesia`s Country Director Longgena Ginting recently.

The Rainbow Warrior has been the heart and soul of Greenpeace global campaigning for over 30 years. The Rainbow Warrior tour of Indonesia is part of the Greenpeace "Ocean Defender tour of Southeast Asia."

In June and July, the Greenpeace ship Esperanza will continue this tour in Thailand and the Philippines to call for oceans protection throughout the region.
