Karawang, West Java (ANTARA News) - Police personnel of West Java provincial district of Karawang arrested two ship crews who brought in two illegal imigrants at the north coastal area of Karawang on Friday.

"We arrested two ship crews and they are being investigated in Karawang Police Office," acting commander of Karawang coastal police unit, adjunct commissioner Endang Rohendi said here on Friday.

Endang said the police nabbed the two crews recognized by their initials Es and En, along with 63 illegal immigrants in Betokmati Village waters of Karawang District.

The police believed that the two crews hailing from Indramayu District, West Java province.

"We confiscated the ship and investigated the two crews," the police disclosed.

The 63 illegal immigrants comprising 18 from Myanmar, three from Nepal, one from Srilanka and the rest are from Bangladesh.

Police then brought the illegal immigrants to the Karawang immigration center for investigation process.
