Garut, W Java (ANTARA News) - Garut district resort police in West Java have released 20 traveling German visitors from the region to resume trip to visit eastern Indonesian places before heading to several countries.

"We have released the German travelers on Tuesday morning, after obtaining travel license from the traffic police office," Garut police spokesman, Commissioner Rudi said here on Tuesday.

The Garut resort police secured 20 German tourists along with 10 big double cabin cars on Saturday (July 20).

According to Rudi, foreign vehicles used by the German travelers were not equipped with recommendation letter from the national police headquarters.

"We did not release them until after they have obtained the travel license," he said, adding that the police escorted them by using patrol car towards Tasikmalaya District.

In addition, police in Tasikmalaya also detained eight German cars before they were released and proceeded to their destination.

The German travelers left their country in August 2011 traveling through a number of countries including Turkey, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Before returning to Germany, they are expected to visit Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Bali, Timor Leste, Australia, and United States (U.S). (*)
