Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has made available 110 buses to transport some 5,500 travelers seeking to return to their hometowns for the Idul Fitri Muslim festivity.

"This `Rejeki Mudik BNI 2013` (Going To Hometown) program is part of the bank`s efforts to assist the government in providing free transportation for homebound travelers," BNI Director Gatot M. Suwondo said here on Friday while seeing off the travelers.

The bank also purchased 500 train seats and 92 plane tickets at no cost for Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong and Singapore.

In all, BNI provided free transportation to more than 6,000 Idul Fitri holiday makers returning to their hometowns in 10 destinations.

These locations included Padang (West Sumatra), Palembang (South Sumatra), Lampung, Cirebon (West Java), Semarang (Central Java), Solo (Central Java), Purwokerto (Central Java), Yogyakarta, Malang (East Java) and Surabaya (East Java).

Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar and Transportation Minister EE Mangidaan also were present to see off homebound travelers.
