Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Doctors` Association (IDI) has set up some five health posts to serve the medical needs of Idul Fitri homebound travelers, IDI Chairman Zaenal Abidin said here on Friday.

"According to information from IDI`s Post Command of Idul Fitri Homebound Travel Coordinator Dr Kamaruddin Askar, two of the health posts started operations today," he said.

The two health posts operating as of Friday are located at Cikampek Toll Road km 19 and km 57.

The Bandung health post will begin serving travelers on August 4 and the post in Cilegon will open on August 11. Also, the Serang health post will serve travelers from August 7 to 11, according to officials.

The IDI health posts are open for 24 hours and staffed by doctors. Medicines and ambulances are also available at the health posts.

Zaenal Abidin urged local IDI chapters to set up free medical posts for Idul Fitri travelers.

Indonesian authorities are gearing up for the annual Idul Fitri exodus of about 15 million travelers returning home (mudik) for family reunions during the post-fasting festivities of Idul Fitri (Lebaran), which fall on August 8, 2013.
