Jakarta (ANTARA News) - No significant accumulations of travelers in their trips to and back from their hometowns during this year`s Idul Fitri holidays, Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan said.

"Idul Fitri or Lebaran travelers this year is more distributable so that they were not accumulated on a certain day," the minister said in a press statement here on Monday.

He said that travelers were more evenly distributed.

Besides, transportation organizers this year also have enough time to arrange their transportation because Idul Fitri holidays this year were relatively longer.

"Not all travelers are concentrated on one day. It is different from that last year when the peak of returning travelers were concentrated on three to two days after the Idul Fitri (D-3 and D-2)," the minister said.

The minister said that his office so far coordinated all forms of transportation modes such as land, train, sea and air so that travelers were not concentrated in certain places.

According to the minister, his side also carried out control from Lebaran Command post to monitor points of traffic congestion.

"Traffic management in the current Lebaran, or Idul Fitri, has also become good," he said.

The minister cited as an example his ministry`s coordination on in train transportation. It prepared 44 additional trains, while a total of 265 others are operated regularly.

Besides, a total of 1,439 trains were operated and 143 others were set as reserves.
