Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA News) - The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Summit, scheduled to be held in Bali on October 7-8, has confirmed the attendance of three heads of state so far.

"The heads of state of three countries, the United States, Russia, and China, have responded to our invitations and confirmed their presence at the APEC Summit," national committee member Ahmed Kurnia said here on Tuesday.

He expressed optimism that all of the 21 APEC member countries would attend the meeting.

Some of the heads of state are expected to arrive a few days before the APEC summit, because they are scheduled speak at the APEC CEO Summit 2013, which will be held from October 1 through October 6.

For security reasons, Bali`s Ngurah Rai airport will be closed to the public when the delegates arrive at or depart from the airport.

"During this period, the airport will be closed to the public on three occasions. After the summit is over, the airport will remain open all the time," Kurnia said.

The airport, he continued, will remain closed from 10am to 8pm on October 6, 1pm to 8pm on October 8, and 7am through 2pm on October 9.

All parties concerned, including domestic airports and domestic and international airlines, have been informed about the security measure, Kurnia added.
