The national economy is sick, when the drug turned out to be a pain that is okay."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) expects the government`s economic policies package to repair the Indonesian economy structure and provide real results to the public.

"It should be implemented immediately, and the results should be perceived by the public," said Kadin`s Chairman Suryo Bambang Sulisto on Wednesday.

He believes that any policy implemented by the government should reap positive results.

The government also needs to control oil and gas imports, which are big.

In addition, Sulisto said the government should address and sort out the dependence on imported raw materials and luxury goods imports.

Meanwhile, for the monetary stimulus, the Chamber has urged the banking sector to sacrifice by raising deposit rates without increasing the lending rates.

"The national economy is sick, when the drug turned out to be a pain that is okay. The banking sector can sacrifice by shrinking the profits," he said.

In addition, state authority needs to be strengthened in order to attract foreign exchange exports back to Indonesia. A firm regulation, according to Sulisto, should be coupled with incentives.

He also suggested businessmen to raise exports.

"Tourist arrivals must be facilitated and the local governments should also involved in the program," he said.

Earlier, the government issued four economic packages to maintain and prevent the national economy from being affected by global crisis.
