Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will hold bilateral talks with visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Merdeka Palace on Friday.

The head of state and the First Lady, Ani Yudhoyono, are scheduled to receive Prime Minister Singh and First Lady Gursharan Kaur at 3.30 p.m. local time, according to information released by the presidential palace.

After the bilateral meeting, the two leaders will oversee the signing of a number of MoUs (Memoranda of Understanding).

Yudhoyono will also host a state banquet for his guests at the State Palace at 8 p.m. local time.

The Indian Prime Minister arrived on a state visit to Indonesia on Thursday. His trip is aimed at strengthening and expanding strategic partnerships between the two countries. The visit ends on October 12.

Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma have accompanied Singh to Indonesia.

The bilateral trade between Indian and Indonesia increased five-fold to US$20 billion in 2012-13 from 2005, when the two countries signed a strategic partnership agreement.
