Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono arrived in Jakarta on Saturday following his working visit to London, which began October 28, 2013, to attend several international events.

Boarding a commercial Singapore Airlines flight, the vice president arrived at Soekarno-Hatta airport at 1.05 pm on Saturday, after a 14.5 hour flight from London.

From the airport, Vice President Boediono headed to his official residence along Diponegoro street.

While in London, the vice president attended international meetings, joining various heads of state and government.

On October 29 he attended the World Islamic Economic Forum, gave a general lecture at Oxford University on Oct 30, and attended the Open Government Partnership Summit on Oct 31.

During the lecture at Oxford University, Boediono spoke of the progress achieved by Indonesia in developing its education sector.

"We are serious about reforming the education sector," he said while delivering a lecture entitled "Transforming Indonesia: The Challenges of Good Governance and Economic Development".

Indonesia has also assumed the chairmanship from Britain of the Open Government Partnership for 2014.

British prime minister David Cameron handed over the chairmanship to Indonesian vice president Boediono at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Center in London on Thursday.

The Open Government Partnership is a movement committed to building transparency, accountability and quality of public service in its member countries.

Some two hundred representatives from international and Indonesian non-governmental organizations also attended the event.
