Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The police anti-terror squad, Densus 88, found explosives while searching the home of suspected terrorists in Jakartas south-western outskirts of Ciputat on Tuesday night.

"We have found explosives at the scene," stated spokesman of the Indonesian police Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar.

However, he refused to disclose the quantity and type of the explosives.

"We are still trying to weaken them," he noted.

He stated that the police had shot dead one suspected terrorist, identified him by his initials as H, and had arrested another.

By late Tuesday, police officers cordoned off the home of the suspected terrorist cell at Kampung Sawah, Ciputat, South Tangerang municipality.

The police were still trying to persuade three suspected terrorists, who were still holding out at the house to surrender, he stated.
