Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former Indonesian ambassador to the United States, Dino Pati Djalal here on Sunday visited victims affected by flash floods in Jakarta and helped cook fried rice for flood volunteers in Kalibata and Pancoran.

Dino, who is one of the convention participants of the ruling Democratic partys presidential candidates for 2014 presidential election, cooked the fried rice after observing locations around the floods and extended emergency relief along with personnel of military (TNI) and mobile brigade police by using rubber boats, according to Dinos written remarks on Sunday.

On the occasion, Dino appreciated and encouraged the volunteers who showed their commitment to helping the flood victims.

"We need real actions to help our brothers in need and we also need more volunteers," Dino stated.

Dino and his entourage extended rice, food instant, medicine, beverages, including milk.

Apart from Dino, the other convention participants of the ruling Democratic partys presidential candidates for 2014 presidential election are Anies Baswedan, Ali Masykur Musa, Dahlan Iskan, Endriartono Sutarto, Gita Wirjawan, Hayono Isman, Irman Gusman, Marzukie Alie, Pramod Edhie Wibowo, and Sinyo Harry Sarundayang.

Indonesia will hold national legislative elections in April 2014 and presidential election in June 2014.
