Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The regional government of Jakarta is renegotiating the contract of the Jakarta monorail project with PT Jakarta Monorail (JM).

Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo stated that the renegotiation with PT JM laid emphasis on issues related to passengers and advertisements.

"If passenger numbers using monorail do not reach 160 thousand, the Jakarta regional government is requested to provide a subsidy to PT JM. We do not want this, and we have to negotiate this point," Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, emphasized here on Wednesday.

The second point that he highlighted was related to the use of the Jakarta governments assets as properties. Not all of the Jakarta governments assets can be included as properties.

"The monorail pillars are over the green line," he asserted.

Jokowi stated that the locations of billboards must be clear.(*)
