Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a limited cabinet meeting to discuss the implementation of a number of regulations on domestic administration, here on Friday.

"Today, the Home Affairs Minister will present a report on several important policies concerning the administration and the nation," the President stated in his opening remarks.

It is important to evaluate the implementation of the regulations in order to check the extent of progress, he explained.

"Discussing the implementation of a number of regulations is crucial, because without implementation, the people will not benefit from the existence of regulations, for instance the regulation on village administration," he elaborated.

He added that the people are still waiting for the Parliaments approval on several bills.

"For instance, the Bill on Regional Head Elections, the Bill on Regional Administration," he pointed out.

He hoped that despite the upcoming legislative elections, the House of Representatives (DPR) will pass several bills.

The meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam.
