The people of Afghanistan must themselves decide their future instead of others."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Iran hopes for a fair and clean election in Afghanistan, which will be held on April 5, 2014, Irans Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in Jakarta on Friday.

"I believe Afghanistan must have a fair, free and clean election," said the minister at a public event, where he made a speech.

According to Zarif, the people of Afghanistan have a tremendous opportunity this year, with the upcoming general election and the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country. However, he also pointed out that such an opportunity may turn into a nightmare if the world interferes too much.

"The people of Afghanistan must themselves decide their future instead of others," said the minister.

Afghanistans presidential election is scheduled for April 5, 2014. Eleven candidates will contest in the election.
