Tangerang, Banten, March 14 (Antara) - Ade Irawan has been named the new coordinator of the Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) as a successor to Danang Widoyoko.

Irawan has had rich experiences in program management and advocacy in the ICW, and he will surely be capable in leading the anti-corruption NGO to be more active and creative in eradicating corruption activities, Widoyoko stated here on Friday.

The appointment of the new ICW coordinator as of March 1 also marked the regeneration in the NGO leadership.

"I thank you for the support and assistance so far in strengthening the anti-corruption movement in Indonesia," Widoyoko, who will soon leave for Australias National University (ANU) for PhD program, remarked.

Ade Irawan has joined the ICW since 2001. He started as a volunteer and was later appointed as the monitoring and public service coordinator, and the political corruption monitoring coordinator.
