Almost all state companies are facing unfavorable economic condition.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The office of the state enterprises minister said contribution to the state budget in dividends from Indonesia state companies would be around Rp38 trillion or falling short of the target of Rp40 trillion in 2014.

Deputy Minister of State Enterprises Mahmudin Yasin said the target in dividend is to include Rp10.3 trillion from state banks and Rp29.7 trillion from non bank state companies.

Yasin said almost all state companies are facing unfavorable economic condition.

State power utility company PLN is suffering losses as a result of the rupiah fall against the US dollar; and US copper and gold mining company Freeport Indonesia decided not to pay dividends, he said.

Therefore, the government could no longer expect an increase in earning from dividend as almost all state companies already held shareholders meeting.

In order to make up for the shortage, the office of the state minister for state enterprises has to coordinate with the Fiscal Police Board of the Finance Minister.

The situation would have to be reported to the House of Representatives that the payments in dividends to the state budget would fall below target.
