Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - The Regional Police Department of Riau, in cooperation with National Narcotics Agency, have seized 1.5 kilograms methamphetamine from five suspects two of whom are Malaysian citizens.

"The five suspects were arrested across several locations, after the first raid on Tuesday (April 15)," confirmed Head of Riaus Police Department Brigadier General Condro Kirono through his official statement in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Wednesday.

The total value of the methamphetamine that was seized by the police was not less than Rp2.25 billions, excluding the other evidences such as 1,750 happy five pills valued at Rp176 millions.

During the first raid at a house, numbered 28 in Kapur Street, Riau, on Tuesday (April 15), the police arrested DA (32 year-old) and seized two packages of methamphetamine and its straws, and Rp960 thousand cash money.

"From DA, we got the reference of YA (32 year-old) who was arrested on the same day at house number 17 in Fajar Street," Condro confirmed.

The police also arrested PR (42 year-old), a suspect who hid in the house, and seized 100 grams methamphetamine and a small package of 8 gram methamphetamine.

Condro pointed out that through the interrogation of the three suspects, the police found two other references alleged drug kingpins.

The police moved to house number 2 in Garuda Street, at the dawn of Wednesday and arrested two Malaysian citizens, initialed CKS and YKC.

"We seized 1.5 kilogram or 1,516.54 gram for the exact amount of methamphetamine and 1,760 happy five pills from the suspects," Condro explained.(*)
