Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesians living in Thailand were told to stay at home and not leave their residence unless it is necessary, a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok said here on Thursday.

The announcement was made following the recent military coup by the Thai Army on the afternoon of Thursday, May 22.

"Please avoid leaving your residence, especially at night, unless it is necessary. Indonesians in Thailand must also avoid locations of mass rally or wear accessories that can be mistakenly identified as a member of either of the parties in conflict in Thailand," the release said.

The Indonesian Embassy had formed a team consisting of the embassys staff and Indonesian people in Thailand. The team is tasked to disseminate information and necessary support to Indonesians living in Thailand, given the recent developments in the country. (*)
