Technical factor drove the JCI higher this morning.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) rose 0.23 percent in the opening trade on Friday on technical factor, analysts said.

"Technical factor drove the JCI higher this morning. The market players began to buy shares which fell in price on Thursday," Asjaya Indosurya Securities analyst William Surya wijaya said.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange opened 11.29 points higher to 4,875.57 points, with the index of 45 most liquid stocks up 0.27 percent to 822.77 points.

William said amid market instability investors tended to buy shares as a short term strategy .

Samuel Sekuritas analyst Aiza said increase recorded by some regional market contributed to positive sentiment to the domestic market.

Regional markets such as Hang Seng and Nikkei recorded an increase in index with Straits Times falling .
