Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A boat carrying Indonesian migrant workers capsized off the Asepang coast in the Malaysian state of Selangor on Thursday morning, the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur said on Friday.

The accident came a day after a boat capsized in the Kuala Langat waters in Selangor on Wednesday.

Twenty Indonesians consisting of 16 men and four women survived Thursdays accident. Twelve of them were rushed to a nearby hospital for injuries, while eight others were accommodated at the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) in Selangor.

Some of the survivors said the boat carrying 25 passengers and two crew members met the accident on its way to Dumai in the Indonesian province of Riau. Seven people are still missing in the accident.

Seventeen of the passengers were rescued by three passing merchant ships and three others were saved by Search and Rescue (SAR) workers who were trying to find victims of the boat which capsized the day before.

Early Wednesday morning, a boat carrying 97 Indonesians capsized in the waters around Carey Island in Selangor, Malaysia. Five people were found dead in the accident.

Deputy Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono informed Antara on Wednesday that 61 passengers were saved, but the rest are still unaccounted for.

Many Indonesian workers in Malaysia usually return home for the post-Islamic fasting holiday of Idul Fitri.
