It is not free nor is it facilitated by a postal official."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The state postal service, PT Pos Indonesia, is ready to offer clarification to the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding mails sent by Prabowo Subianto to the teachers residing in different cities, stated a spokesman.

"We are ready to be cooperative if the authorities, including Bawaslu, need our clarification in accordance with the existing laws," A. Sofian, a spokesman of PT Pos Indonesia, remarked here on Tuesday.

The mails from presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, were purely related to business and based on an official contract, Sofian pointed out.

"It is not free nor is it facilitated by a postal official. It is recorded officially, and there was no money inside the mails," Sofian added.

Some people have protested against Prabowo for sending mails bearing his vision and mission to teachers in several schools. They contended that measures must be taken to prevent the influence of political campaigns on schools.

Sofian emphasized that based on the existing laws, Pos Indonesia was obliged to serve their clients and deliver their mails as long as they did not contain proscribed materials as ruled by the police and attorney general.
