Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto voiced disapproval to the implementation of the 2014 presidential election and withdrew from the ongoing process where the General Elections Commission (KPU) was holding the national recap meeting on Tuesday.

"We reject the 2014 presidential election, and we are, therefore, withdrawing from the process. We are not willing to sacrifice the peoples mandate for us," Prabowo stated during a press conference at his camp, Polonia House, in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

According to Prabowo, the presidential election was not democratic and against the constitution, and the KPU, as a committee, was not fair or transparent.

Prabowo also noted that his team uncovered several cheating incidents by the KPU and foreigners, which indicated a massive and systematic fraud.

"We are not going to remain quiet and let our rights be taken away. We instruct our witnesses who are monitoring the counting process to stop," he emphasized.

Prabowo also blamed the KPU for ignoring the recommendations of the Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu) and for escalating the problems to the Constitutional Court.

"Our objections are part of the dispute that must be resolved by the Constitutional Court. In fact, the problem is in the internal functioning of the KPU," Prabowo noted.

Hence, Prabowo instructed his witness team, which was attending the national recap meeting at the KPU office to stage a walkout.

"We are ready to win or lose in a democratic and respectful manner. Therefore, we urge all Indonesians who have voted for us to remain calm," he remarked.

The KPU was scheduled to officially announce the result of Indonesias 2014 presidential election on Tuesday after conducting the final meeting to recap all votes that had been counted at the district and provincial level.
