Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Presidential-elect Joko Widodo has set up "a transition office" to prepare programs for the implementation of his vision and mission and also to deliver on his campaign promises.

"Through this office (we hope) all of the vision and mission, action programs, and campaign promises can be implemented in the best interest and welfare of the people of Indonesia," he stated while inaugurating the office in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Hasto Kristayanto, the deputy secretary general of the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) of which Joko Widodo is also a cadre, noted on the occasion that the transition office will be run based on the principle of the presidential system of government in line with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution.

The office, inaugurated in a simple ceremony, will be led by Rini M. Soemarmo and assisted by four deputies: Andi Widjajanto, Hasto Kristiyanto, Anies Baswedan, and Akbar Faisal.

Hasto, who was also the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla campaign teams spokesman, remarked that the task of the office is to elaborately chalk out steps for the implementation of the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla pairs vision and mission, nine action programs, and campaign promises.

Among the strategic things to be prepared by the office are the discussion of the 2015 budget, concept of government institutions under the president including presidential office and cabinet lineup, vision-mission of the president- and vice president-elect and policy plans, and preparation for the implementation of "Kartu Indonesia Sehat" (Indonesia Health Card) and "Kartu Indonesia Pintar" (Indonesia Smart Card).
