Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has criticized the foreign media for occasionally resorting to unfair reporting about Indonesia, by focusing solely on bad news.

"I sometimes notice that international television stations only report bad things about our country. Meanwhile, we want them to report good news, too. The bad ones should also be reported as a reminder for us. The best thing is that the press should stay critical and also the TV stations. It should still be fair and balanced," the president stated here on Tuesday.

The head of state claimed that he has been monitoring and studying news reports about Indonesia on foreign television stations.

"I take rest at 12 midnight at the earliest because I review them all, whether it is CNN, BBC, Skynews, Euronews, CNBC, Aljazeera, Channel News Asia, or Bloomberg, mainly those TV stations; so that I can compare which international TV stations are fair and balanced while reporting about the world, including about Indonesia," he added.
