Even though we find no hotspots so far, all related officials are still on alert to anticipate possible fires."
Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The Disaster Mitigation Office in Central Kalimantan is conducting artificial rain in areas vulnerable to forest fires.

About 12.8 thousand kilograms of salt have been spread above areas with high risk of fires in Central Kalimantan on August 8-10, Chief of Disaster Mitigation Office Muchtar stated here on Monday.

Seruyan district, Kotawaringin Barat, Lamandau, and Palangka Raya city are among the areas that are at a high risk of experiencing forest fires.

Muchtar claimed that artificial rain has reduced the number of hotspots in Central Kalimantan to zero.

"Even though we find no hotspots so far, all related officials are still on alert to anticipate possible fires," Muchtar added.
