Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) will hold its fourth national meeting (rakernas) on September 19-21, 2014, in Semarang as the starting point toward becoming the ruling party in October.

The national meeting will be attended by 1,590 party cadres from all over Indonesia. President-elect Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend the meeting.

"This is the opportunity to prepare the PDI-P as a ruling party. This is the starting point of our victory in 2014, both in the legislative election and in the presidential election," PDI-P national executive board member Andreas Hugo stated here on Tuesday.

According to Andreas, the meeting is expected to change the 10-year mindset of the PDI-P, as it has switched to being the ruling party from being the opposition party.

"The change in mindset will not be easy. It needs to be delivered by the chairman who has prerogative," he emphasized.

He said that a political speech will be delivered by Megawati Soekarnoputri publicly, and she will conduct a closed briefing with the party cadres.

"PDI-P as the ruling party should change mindset, attitude, and political behavior," he noted.

The directive includes views about the increase of subsidized fuel prices.

"The decision taken in the national meeting is binding," he added.(*)
