JAKARTA, Sept 28, 2014 - (ANTARA) - On the last day of IIMS 2014, JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta still attracted many visitors who want to come to see the latest vehicles hence creating long lines of visitors into the venue from morning to the night. Total visitors up to day 10 of IIMS 2014 were 311,405 visitors. The flood of visitors was supported by various attractions and entertainments presented by exhibitors that seemed to be competing to attract visitors to their booths. Until the last day of IIMS 2014, several flagship programs such as Test Drive, Hot Wheels Race & Festival, and All Wheel Drive Challenge are still available for visitors to enjoy.

Yesterday (27/09), Pertamina's booth held Meet & Greet session with the country's top racers, Rifat Sungkar and Rio Haryanto. IIMS Street Show Off, which is conducted by Signal Kustom and Dyandra Promosindo, is still displaying Signal's custom-made cars and Live Mural Art custom-made car which was made using permanent marker for five days in a row. After the design work is complete, representative from Renault Indonesia and other sponsors placed their signatures on the body of the car, which design is made by urban artist, Yudi Andhika.

Last night, the Closing Ceremony held for exhibitors was very festive. Taking place at the Semeru Room, Trade Center Building (GPN), JIExpo, Kemayoran, the ceremony was attended by representatives from GAIKINDO, sole agents, and other exhibitors. At the ceremony, Freddy Sutrisno, Secretary General of GAIKINDO, expressed his appreciation to APM and other parties who have helped making this year's IIMS so well-organized. "This year's exhibition occupies an area that is 10% wider than the previous year, reaching 83,137 square meters. There are 36 brands participating in this year's exhibition, which consists of 29 passenger cars and 7 commercial vehicles, and 286 participants from the supporting industries. The exhibition is displaying 432 vehicles and 23 motorcycles with 322 booths. To boost the publication, IIMS 2014 gathers 1,030 listed local journalists and 35 foreign journalists," said Freddy.

In the occasion, the committee also expressed its appreciation to APM who participated in the Students Visit to Assembly Plant program, which is part of IIMS 2014 pre-event social activities. The participating APMs were PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, and PT Nissan Motor Distributor Indonesia.

The nights' event also announced the winners of Favorite Car, Favorite Booth > 1,300 m2, Favorite Booth 1000 - 1,300 m2, Favorite Booth < 1000 m2, Favorite Booth Outdoor Area, and Miss Motor Show 2014.

For Favorite Car by visitors' choice IIMS 2014, the winner was All New Nissan X-Trail and on the second spot was Honda HR-V, followed by Subaru on third place. For Favorite Booth >1,300 m2 the winner was PT Honda Prospect Motor, followed by PT Toyota Astra Motor and PT Astra Daihatsu Motor in second and third place, respectively. For the category of Favorite Booth 1000 - 1,300 m2, the first place went to PT BMW Indonesia, while PT Mazda Motor Indonesia, and PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (Mitsubishi) were in second and third place. The Favorite Booth < 1000 m2 was won by PT BMW Indonesia (MINI), with PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, and PT Garansindo Interglobal at the second and third place. The Favorite Outdoor Booth belonged to PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (Mitsubishi Fuso) followed by PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (Hino), and PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (Isuzu).

The jury of 'Miss Motor Show 2014' elected Febrizky from Daihatsu to be crowned as 'Miss Motor Show 2014'. The 1st Runner Up was Intan Debby from Toyota and the 2nd Runner Up was Jennifer from Ford. The finalist from Honda's booth, Lilis, was voted as 'Miss Favorite' while Ismi Iskandar from Chevrolet was awarded as 'Miss Photogenic'. 'Miss Congeniality' went to Ratih from Mercedes-Benz, and 'Miss Automotive' was won by Nadira from Suzuki.*

Abiyoso Wietono, Automotive Division Manager Dyandra Promosindo, said 'Miss Motor Show' pageant is not intended merely as supporting program, it also serves as one of the exhibition's flagship programs. He further emphasized that the winner of 'Miss Motor Show' is expected to be able to represent IIMS reputation outside the exhibition.

Appreciation to Media

As an appreciation to journalists, both local and international, who are covering the exhibition from the opening day to the very last day of IIMS 2014, the committee holds 'Journalist Writing Competition'. The theme for this year's competition is "Smart & Safe Mobility" with the sub-theme of safety driving, economic and environmental friendly vehicles, low emission fuel, and smart way to travel. The assessment will be based on the idea of the writing, structure of writing, richness of vocabulary, and the writing style. The competition offers cash prize worth tens of millions of rupiah. The writing competition is open until October 2, 2014. The winner will be announced at www.indonesianmotorshow.com on October 17, 2014.
