Beijing, China (ANTARA News) - US President Barack Obama has said his country was interested in partnering with Indonesia for a renewal program proposed by President Joko Widodo.

"I know that President Joko Widodo has an agenda and ambition related to renewal efforts for improving Indonesias prosperity. And the USA is interested to become a partner in the process," Obama stated here on Monday.

According to Obama, Indonesia and the USA share a remarkable, comprehensive partnership in many sectors, including those related to economy, security, and development.

President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, expressed his appreciation of US Secretary of State John Kerrys attendance at his presidential inauguration in Jakarta.

Jokowi said both countries should increase cooperation in the future, particularly in the security sector, to improve regional stability.

The leaders were meeting on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Beijing. The Summit was attended by 21 world economic leaders.

On the third day of his visit to Beijing, President Jokowi held several bilateral meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
