Nay Pyi Taw (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and entourage arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday night to attend the ASEAN and East Asia (EAS) summits in Myanmar.

The Head of State was welcomed by Myanmars Chief Protocol U Thurein Thant Zin and Indonesian Ambassador to Myanmar Ito Sumardi at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

Myanmar is the second country visited by President Jokowi in a series of his first overseas working visits after attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Beijing, China.

The President will be visiting Myanmar for two days to meet with his counterparts from other Southeast Asian region.

During the summit events of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), there will also be summits of ASEAN+Japan, ASEAN+China, ASEAN+India and ASEAN+Australia.

ASEAN groups Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia.
