The jail sentence is two years lighter than what the public prosecutor had sought.
Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The Bandung corruption court in West Java on Thursday sentenced inactive Bogor district head Rahmat Yasin to five years and six months in jail following his conviction in a graft case.

"We sentence the defendant to five years and six months in jail minus his detention period," presiding judge Barita Lumban Gaol ruled.

The court also ordered Yasin to pay a fine of Rp300 million or face an additional imprisonment of three months.

Barita stated the defendant has been proven guilty of violating article 12 (a) of Law No. 31/1999, which was replaced by Law No.20/2001 related to corruption eradication.

The jail sentence is two years lighter than what the public prosecutor had sought.

The case surrounded the arrangement of recommendations for the issuance of land use permits related to forest areas in Bogor, West Java. (*)
