Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo held a meeting with district and resort military commanders from across the country in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan, on Friday.

He was accompanied by defense forces (TNI) Commander General Moeldoko, Army Chief of Staff General Gatot Nurmantyo, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, and Central Kalimantan Governor Teras Narang.

"I appeal to you to assist in the implementation of tasks of the governments in cities, districts, and provinces," he who also well known as Jokowi, noted in his directive.

He also urged the local military commanders to help curb fish poaching and the distribution of narcotic drugs.

The roll call at Kampung Pulau, located 70 kilometers from Pangkalan Bun, was also attended by TNIs chiefs of staff and other officials.

Jokowi is scheduled to visit Gorontalo in Sulawesi, on Friday afternoon, for a working visit until Sunday.

Jokowi and his entourage arrived in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan, at 9.30 a.m. local time.

He and First Lady Iriana left the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta, at 8 a.m. local time and arrived 90 minutes later in Pangkalan Bun.

He recently held a meeting with military chiefs at the state palace in Bogor, West Java.

Cabinet secretary Andi Widjajanto remarked that the president received a full briefing regarding the on-field conditions during his meeting with military chiefs in Bogor, which was also attended by regional military commanders.

On Tuesday, he issued directives to regional police chiefs at a meeting in Semarang, Central Java.
