Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Hong Kong Anti-Narcotics Police have praised the Indonesian Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN) for arresting WCP (40), an international drug dealer, on January 6 in Jakarta.

"We appreciate the Indonesian Anti-Narcotics Agency for arresting WCP who has been a fugitive in Hong Kong and China. Moreover, the Indonesian officials also seized a substantial amount of drugs during WCPs arrest. That is incredible," Hong Kongs Deputy Chief of Anti-Narcotic Unit Senior Supt Andrew said here Thursday.

According to him, the cooperation between the Hong Kong Anti-Narcotics Police and their Indonesian counterpart has been good during the past years. He expressed hope to see stronger collaboration with Indonesian officials in the future.

International drug dealer WCP was arrested on Monday along with nine other suspects comprising five foreigners and four Indonesians during a raid in West Jakarta.

WCP has been among the most wanted drug dealers in Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Macao, Myanmar, and Indonesia, according to BNN deputy chief Police Brig. Gen. Dedi Fauzi.

WCPs group is part of a syndicate that is known to be large smugglers of methamphetamine in southeast Asia, he noted.

"This has been the largest catch in southeast Asia," he added.

Police also confiscated 800 kilograms of the drug from a boxcar during the raid at Jalan Jalan Satu Maret, Pegadungan, sub-district of Kalideres, West Jakarta.
