Tokyo (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Kantei, Tokyo, on Monday.

President Jokowi arrived at the Grand Hall Kantei at 5.55 P.M. local time and attended a welcome ceremony before proceeding to the fourth floor for the bilateral meeting.

Jokowi also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and held a joint press conference in the building.

Later, PM Abe invited Jokowi to an official dinner at the Dining Hall of his residence.

President Jokowi will also have a conference with Japan External Trade Organizations members and give courtesy calls to several Japanese business persons. He will attend a business forum agenda meeting with the Chairman of Keidanren and Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday (March 24).

The President will also have a one-on-one meeting with the representatives of Japanese corporations such as Suzuki, J-Power, IHI Corporation, JX NEO, and JBIC.

Meanwhile, the Presidents agenda for Wednesday includes a visit to Toyota Corporation in Nagoya and board a super fast train, Shinkansen Nozomi 311.

After visiting Japan, Jokowi is scheduled to tour Beijing, China, from March 25 to 27, 2015.

Among the prominent officers accompanying President Jokowi on his visit are Economic Coordinating Minister Sofyan Djalil, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno LP Marsudi, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel, State Enterprise Minister Rini Soemarno, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto, and Indonesian Military Commander General Moeldoko.(*)
