Let us be wary of radical movement by maintaining the state philosophy of Pancasila and Unity in Diversity."
Purbalingga (ANTARA News) - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has urged the local community to be wary of radical movement in the province.

"Let us be wary of radical movement by maintaining the state philosophy of Pancasila and Unity in Diversity," Ganjar remarked while opening a congress on Banyumas regional development planning at Owabong Hotel here on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the governor urged the local community to stay on guard against radical movement in the name of Islam, which aims to divide the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Ganjar expressed regret on knowing that some people from Central Java have allegedly joined the radical movement of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Vice President Jusuf Kalla noted in Jakarta on Monday that he had ordered Minister of Informatics and Communication Rudiantara to block Islamic websites that were spreading radicalism.

"I asked Rudiantara to block websites that were found to be clearly a part of the propaganda for radicalism, following a thorough study," Kalla stated.

The vice president remarked that Islamic websites carrying content on radicalism were blocked following a request from a security institution.

"This was a request from a security institution. In a meeting today, I ordered (the minister of informatics and communication) to conduct a thorough selection," he affirmed.

Kalla pointed out that not all Islamic websites would be blocked by the government, but only those carrying content spreading radicalism.

"Not all of them will be blocked. We will not block a website simply because it has an Islamic name. Only those clearly promoting radicalism consistently (will be blocked). If they only carry interpretations or content that is not binding, they will not be selected among those to be blocked," he explained.
