... Indonesians traveling to Thailand for MICE purposes in 2014 reached 33,325 and generated US$ 97.64 million as revenue. This proves the strong relationship between Thailand and Indonesia...
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is one of the important MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) markets for Thailand, Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), a public organization, stated.

"The number of Indonesians traveling to Thailand for MICE purposes in 2014 reached 33,325 and generated US$ 97.64 million as revenue. This proves the strong relationship between Thailand and Indonesia," Maythaveekulchai said in a press release received here on Friday.

He remarked that the TCEB is optimistic that the bilateral trade between Thailand and Indonesia will increase further.

According to the latest report of Statistic Indonesia, the value of exports and imports between Thailand and Indonesia in 2014 reached US$15,611 million.

Thus, the TCEB has started new international campaigns for MICE and will communicate the initiative throughout the world, including to Indonesians.

The new campaign will highlight Thailand's next step in its strategy to boost the world's confidence in its MICE industry, and drive the Thai MICE industry to a leading position in the ASEAN Economic Community.

He revealed that the plan includes Thailand's MICE United II, a strategic campaign with strong collaboration between nine public and private organizations.

"To achieve our goal of increasing the number of international visitors by five per cent and revenue by 10 per cent in 2015, the TCEB has initiated a suite of integrated campaigns focusing on high-quality MICE markets, driving sustainable growth for the Thai MICE sector, and positioning Thailand as a top-of-mind, high-quality MICE destination in Asia," he affirmed.

The first element of the strategy is Thailand's MICE United II campaign, the second phase of the successful campaign established in 2014 to reinvigorate Thailands positive image and reinforce confidence among the international business community.

With key founding members, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International PLC, Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, and TCEB, the initiative was well-received by target audiences through a wide range of activities such as international media familiarization trips and Thailand MICE road shows.
